Ozzie Lessinger was fishing with his father before he could walk, 6-month-old Ozzie was put in a backpack carrier and taken fishing.
Ozzie was hooked, so to speak. After finishing college with a degree in marketing from Colorado State University and trying his hand at the corporate world, Ozzie traded in his suite and tie to pursue his lifelong dream of being a fishing guide.
In 1990 he moved to sanibel and in 1994 established himself as a full time fishing guide. He lives in Fort Myers with his wife, Jennifer, sons Sam and Gus, and daughter Sadie.
Ozzie began fishing tournaments in 1994. He won the first tournament he ever competed in and has been a consistent top-five finisher ever since. He's competed in more than 100 tournaments with over 20 first place finishes. His tournament history includes local tournaments such as the O'bannon Snook Tournament, the flats masters series and the Professional Tarpon Tournament series. On a national level Ozzie has fished the FLW Redfish Tour, the ESPN Redfish Cup and been featured on Bass to Billfish and Reel Animals tv shows.
